A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal.

This is a great movie

Types of Humor: The 5 “S”s

philip-the-nickel:

Slapstick: physical humor, as in humor found from physical stimuli or physical reactions. Ex: farts, sex, AFV, pie to the face, Three Stooges.

Sarcastic: double-entente humor, as in humor based off of the ironic difference between literal and intended meaning. Ex: Bert and Ernie, Squidward, 9th Doctor, Sam Winchester

Subtle: dry or deadpan humor, as in humor which is found by an unaffected delivery of emotional or radical subject material. Ex: Mikasa, Jeff Dunham, Sheldon, Phil Coulson, Castiel
image

Satirical: ridiculing humor, as in humor which seeks to mock faults in the status quos or belief systems. Ex: Deadpool, SNL, Monty Python, Springtime with Hitler
image

Sardonic: dark humor, as in humor which plays off of tragic events to create a grim irony. Ex: Cruel Irony, “Laugh to keep from crying”,  Shakespeare, Olaf the Snowman

-Now, keep in mind that people can have one or many of these types of humors, and often can appreciate one or many types of humor. Its good to give a character some funny aspects to them, and hopefully this little cheat sheet will help you decide what kind of aspects that might be.-

Dining Etiquette Around The World, an infographic by Restaurant Choice

via Feel Design

are these relevant or clichés to you?

this is very interesting and fascinating. i know from personal experience as a korean also not to stick my chopsticks upright in rice because it resembles incense at a funeral and is considered to be an omen/bad luck

same in china. also don’t make your chopsticks clatter against the bowl that’s what people do to beg for money/food on the streets and if you do it in a high-class restaurant it’s super bad manners

I’m not quite sure if the belching thing is absolutely necessary in restaurants. Maybe if someone was cooking a home meal for you. Otherwise, in public, it’s just not considered rude like it is in America.

Also, some tea rules! If you are going to refill your cup, check if anyone else needs to refill their cup first before refilling your own.  If someone refills your cup for you, you thank them by tapping the table three times and saying “xie xie” (sorta pronounced sh-eh sh-eh), which means thank you.

Of course, this may not necessarily apply to all of China. China is a huge and very diverse place, so your best bet is to ask someone from the specific area about the proper table etiquette.

oH MY GOD how did this not win the entire internet

Because that’s not a haiku, the syllables are all wrong.

You play with actual haikus only? I don’t think I’ve ever had cards that could meet the requirements when it comes up. It’s pretty much guaranteed I’ll have one to two syllable only cards when this black card shows up in play.

At that point I’d use more than one card a line.

Chowder. We’ve played this game. You know how to play this game.
Get your nonsense out of here.
